Or by planet mass? with the planet mass being decided in direct proportion to how much energy can be harvested daily from them.
By the Way, that bug that renames factions has happened again, this time to me... not convinced I want my poor people to be called the 'Happy Ever After-ians'

What do you guys think about the scoreboard? would the game be better if the number of planets etc. was hidden?

Just mulling over possible tech changes. Might be simpler and much better to just have the following tech...
- Beams
- Torps
- Engines
- Scanners
- Exotic? includes shields, cloaks, all sorts.
Not sure - if we have a tech category for every "type of thing" then we will limit potential new components. e.g. where do fighter bays, mining lasers, cloaks etc. belong.
Hmmm just a thought.

It's the size/mass of all the components. But the client doesn't tell you. check the playerfile.xml and you can see the size for each component.
